Skills
What Are Skills?
Skills are reusable knowledge modules that agents reference when working. Think of them as guidelines, SOPs, brand voice documents, or any structured knowledge that should inform how your agent handles tasks.
There are two types:
- •Platform Skills — Built and maintained by Gyld. These cover common use cases and best practices.
- •User Skills — Created by you. These are specific to your business, brand, or workflows.
Creating Skills
You can create skills in several ways:
Write a skill manually:
- 1Go to the Skills section in your agent's config panel (or the Skills page).
- 2Click the dropdown and select "Write skill."
- 3Enter a name (e.g., "Brand Voice Guidelines").
- 4Write the content in markdown format.
- 5Save — the skill is now available to enable for any agent.
Upload a file:
- •Accepts .md, .txt, and .markdown files.
- •The filename becomes the skill name.
- •Content is parsed and stored as a skill.
Managing Skills
- •Enable/disable toggle — Turn skills on or off per agent. A skill can exist in your library but only apply to specific agents.
- •Preview — Click a skill name to view its full content.
- •Uninstall — Remove a user skill from your library entirely.
- •The skills section shows the count of enabled vs. total (e.g., "3/8" means 3 of 8 skills are active for this agent).
