Automations

What Are Automations?

Automations let your agents react to events or run on a schedule without manual intervention. Instead of chatting with your agent every time, automations handle recurring workflows automatically.

Event-Based Automations

Event automations trigger when something happens in a connected app — a new email arrives, a Slack message is posted, a form is submitted, etc.

  1. 1Go to the Automations section in your agent's config panel.
  2. 2Click "+ Automation" to open the automation editor.
  3. 3Select a trigger (e.g., "New email in Gmail").
  4. 4Configure the trigger (e.g., filter by label, sender, or subject).
  5. 5Define what the agent should do when triggered.
  6. 6Save and enable the automation.

Scheduled Automations

Scheduled automations run at fixed intervals regardless of events — every 5 minutes, hourly, daily, etc.

  • Available intervals: 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 6 hours, 1 day.
  • Useful for: periodic inbox summaries, data syncing, status reports, health checks.
  • The agent runs the automation task and logs the result.

Automation Steps

Automations can have multiple steps that execute in sequence. Each step uses the agent's connected apps and tools. The output of one step can feed into the next, creating powerful multi-step workflows.
