What Is the Knowledge Base?
The knowledge base is a collection of documents and information that your agent can search and reference when responding. This gives your agent domain-specific context — company policies, product documentation, FAQs, procedures, etc.
Adding Knowledge
You can add knowledge in several ways:
- •Upload files — PDF, TXT, DOC, and DOCX files. Content is extracted, indexed, and searchable.
- •Paste text — Write or paste text directly with a title and description.
- •Sync from apps — Connect a source like Google Drive or Notion to automatically sync documents.
How Agents Use Knowledge
When your agent receives a message, it can search the knowledge base for relevant documents. If it finds matching content, it will reference that information in its response and cite the source. This ensures responses are grounded in your actual data rather than general AI knowledge.
